Each type of helper follows different rules about what they must report. The app shows you those rules before your first message, so there are no surprises.

Helper What stays private Safety Locate
Chaplain Privileged. Nothing you say is shared without your written consent. Never
Military and Family Life Counselor Private and not reported to your command, with some exceptions required by law. Only if you turn it on
Licensed Counselor Private, with the reporting rules of a licensed counselor. Only if you turn it on
Peer Supporter A trained peer to talk with. Not a counselor. Never
